2024 has been an exceptional year for FRSA and FRSNZ. Our team has travelled extensively throughout both Australia and New Zealand visiting clients and attending various events. We have showcased a wide range of the latest innovations and have demonstrated products including Holmatro’s OmniShore and the Shark Robotics Colossus to various clients. New partnerships have flourished in the last twelve months, further diversifying the fire and rescue equipment capability we supply and service. We have also embarked on a Net Promoter Score (NPS) journey where we have reached out to a wide-reaching client base asking for feedback and taking this on board to further enhance our clients’ experience with our business. It has been a major year for the company, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank both our suppliers and clients for your ongoing support over the year.

Events
FRSA and FRSNZ are fortunate to attend and sponsor events from mining competitions to exhibitions across Australia and New Zealand. 2024 was another year in which our team travelled in every direction to attend and show our support within the industry. From the many mining competitions in Central Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, as well as the Northern Territory and Perth, to the NSW State Firefighter Championships, the Stair Climb in Melbourne and everything in-between, our team is grateful to support these events. A huge congratulations to all teams who have competed in these events – it has been great to see their skillset and teamwork in action.
This year also saw the inaugural Australian Water Rescue Challenge (AWRC) organised by the Australasian Rescue Organisation (ARO) take place in Penrith Whitewater Stadium, Sydney. FRSA were proud Major Tool Sponsors of AWRC in which the Holmatro T1 forcible entry tool and the Pentheon Combi Tool (PCT14) were utilised in scenarios. This event tested the water rescue skills of competing teams and was an exciting event to witness for the first time. We are looking forward to seeing what the teams will bring into 2025 at this event again in March.
AFAC 2024 held in Sydney allowed us to spend time with our OEMs and our valued clients over the few days. On our stand we had a wide range of products from our key suppliers. FRSA were proud to debut the new Nomad Pump for the first time, as well as displaying the Shark Robotics’ Colossus. Holmatro’s Next-Gen Pentheon Series also made its debut, with the ARO team and FRNSW demonstrating its capability and Bluetooth connectivity. We are looking forward to AFAC 2025 in Perth later this year and we hope to see you there!
Over in New Zealand, FRSNZ attended the United Fire Brigades Association (UFBA) Road Crash Rescue Challenge, the UFBA Exhibition, as well as Aeromed 2024. It was a great opportunity to meet with valued clients at both UFBA events, while also expanding horizons at Aeromed – a conference and exhibition focused on aeromedical care.
In 2025, FRSA and FRSNZ will continue to support and attend these events. We are excited to see what each of these will have in store – a huge thank you to all organisers and volunteers who make these events possible!
Milestones and Achievements
Bunzl Asia Pacific were once again certified a ‘Great Place to Work’ in both Australia and New Zealand. This prestigious recognition highlights our unwavering commitment to putting our people first in all that we do.
2024 saw FRSA reach a major milestone with October signifying the 20th year since founders Gary Ashwood and Rob Male started the company. Starting as a two-man business, FRSA has expanded majorly over the last two decades with branches across the country and expanding into New Zealand with FRSNZ. These 20 years have been a journey filled with hard work and dedication from all of the staff over the years, and is also a credit to the support of our suppliers and clients.
The year also signified an end of an era with founders Gary and Rob retiring from the company at the end of 2024. We appreciate all they have done over the years, and we will ensure their legacy will continue long into the future.
